Afternoon Delight

Personal Ad:

Mostly blank, as-of-late unattended-to blog seeks someone to cuddle with on dark nights while listening to music that can't be heard while alone. Blog: Snobby, semi-autobiographical, a bit whiny, full of happy synth beats and near-non-stop good things. You: Nonjudgmental, mentally sound, open-minded, accepting of almost constant cursing and unhinged musical fixations and obsessions. If interested, keep coming back for more and Blog won't disappoint.

This week:::

THE RAVEONETTES

Not only are they both beautiful and Danish, they produce a gorgeous, 60's-inspired noir-pop sound that clearly masturbates to pictures of the Jesus and Mary Chain. The Raveonettes are guiltily catchy, yes, but they are also hauntingly gorgeous and I won't hide my newfound adoration.

The Raveonettes - Hallucinations (recommended)
The Raveonettes - Aly Walk With Me

BRITISH SEA POWER

These guys' new album is more put-together and impressive than anything they've released before, with soaring, epic rock songs that renew your enthusiasm for all things. Ignore Pitchfork's ridiculous joke score for this album, it's definitely worthwhile and I really can't comprehend the U2 comparisons.

British Sea Power - All In It
British Sea Power - Waving Flags

...I have many more, but am so hungover that my head is spinning and James Joyce is calling to me and reminding me of my academic duties. I'll post more later.

(This blog is the most aesthetically unpleasant thing I've ever seen. WELL DONE TEAM!)
